What was that white substances in the dishes, alien blood?

More importantly. What was that substance that vibrated into a solid form in that case that seem to want to attack them?

Also, What caused the antigravity rock to jump out if its case?

You can do that yourself with a bassy speaker covered with clingfilm, put water on it, play the right wave length and it dances, pretty cool.
