The Ending (Spoiler)

First of all, why did Shay have to get pregnant. To me that seemed very stereotypical and stupid. This is a girl who was preaching about the shot, the pill, the sticks, yet she doesn't protect herself the first time she has sex? I really didn't like the ending at all. I just saw a vicious cycle happening again. Shay's character was prone to anger. I can see her getting angry at the kid for crying while she was trying to complete her PH.d. That girl went from being a virgin to a pregnant, outgoing, fun loving chick in a span of months. Just doesn't typically happen. Very lifetime movieish.
