Anyone else feel this may have been influenced by Cormac McCarthy novels? I got a strong McCarthy vibe from it.

"How would a community deal with one of McCarthy's flamboyant sociopaths? I liked the idea of re-situating one of those figures on a much more everyday stage."And the influence shines through.
