Expected something different

I caught this show yesterday afternoon. I missed the beginning but recalled Life 2.0 being advertised on O. I thought it was going to be a documentary show about people have changed their lives through use of the internet. Instead, the show seems to be based on an online simulation video game that goes by the same name , Life 2.0.

I did not watch the whole episode but I found it rather curious that the one woman that was suing over her internet items being recreated was odd because it seemed like she had no problem borrowing from "RL" (a term used on the show to represent the Real Life outside of the game opposed to the simulated video reality world they lived and thrived in via avatar characters) for her ideas in the first place.

So she sued a fellow player for this rendering of recreated items but seemed to have no problem copying from items in RL?

I would love to know what companies think of these people recreating their homes, cars, clothing, jewelry etc. etc. in this little simulated world of theirs , where they expect other people to uphold laws of the real world when it comes to their game production but seem to have no problem infringing on copyrighted , patented , licensed etal items themselves.

The fact that they are making money off of the real world items they copy in game is absurd to me. The woman that sued over her game items claimed a six figure income at one point.

I will never understand paying hard earned money for intangible, pixelated images on a screen but to each their own.

I won't even touch the story of the young man that made his female character go into the simulated world as a suicide bomber. I was happy he gave up his character and decided to move forward in "RL".

The other stories or how they ended, I totally missed. I know a couple was shown briefly talking over Skype but don't know if their story was related to the simulated game. Then there was a young married woman shown to be carrying on in game friendships despite her husband not seeming to be in total approval.

The video game isn't called Life 2.0, it's called Second Life. And yeah, I expected this show to be about internet addiction.
