THE HAIR!?!

Is anyone else bothered by the fact that half of these women have long hair that's not tied up while they're making these cupcakes

Long hair or short it doesn't matter. I don't know anyone that uses a hair net at home, why here? For that matter, facial hair masks as well. With that being said, I have had a few plates served to me with hair over the course of my years. The problem is, you simply don't know whose hair it is. The cooks? or the servers? Let's not get into the use of eggs on this show. Cracking eggs and not washing their hands afterwards.

Absolutely! It's disgusting to watch all that hair flopping over the mixing bowls and cupcakes while decorating. Maybe they are wearing their hair down to look more attractive on TV?

When cooking/baking at home my long hair is pulled back in a tight chignon.

In response to another poster, I wash my hands after cracking the eggs, without fail. The habits of some of these people on TV makes me never want to eat at a potluck dinner. If cooks/bakers are lax about kitchen hygiene, just imagine what your average person, not schooled in such things, might do when no one is around to see. Ewwww.

I'm watching and thinking this. I have worked food service and was always told to keep my hair pulled back. I keep wondering how someone hasn't pulled a hair from cake yet.

#TeeQ13...Yes, it's gross. I was just watching an episode where someone with a very long beard was assisting and it grossed me out.

Totally agree. This might sound stupid, but another thing that bothers me is female bakers that have nail polish on. My cousin was a pastry chef, and when I would visit her, she would take me to her pastry shop and I got to help her make cookies, etc. But, the one rule was that I couldn't wear nail polish since we didn't have gloves on, to prevent the possibility of the polish chipping off and into the dough.

Yes! That too! No nail polish or fake acrylic nails either. Yuck! They're not suppoded to have hand jewelry either unless it's a wedding band.

Ugh! I know! If they are professionals they know they're supposed to have a hair net, a cap or at least out of the way. They just wanna look pretty. I'm talking also about the guys with long hair also.
