It will win every Academy Award

A Star Is Born

It will win every Academy Award this year for Best Movie, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay.... I wouldn’t be surprised if it won more.... or every single award. It was just an amazing movie. A Roller Coast of Emotions ... It's perfectly produced. Amazing dialog, Amazing shots, Amazing pacing and editing.

Does it make you wonder what type of films they are holding in reserve for end of year when most prospective nominees are released?

reply

Probably. Like "La La Land", it will impress today's audience, including Academy voters, who are not familiar with great musicals of the 1930s to 1950s.

reply

I certainly want nominations for almost everyone/thing involved. It is a beautifully-done remake of a remake.

I just got home from seeing it, & I must say that I have never seen an audience, at the end of the movie, still sit there, stunned, trying to recover from the emotional punch this movie delivers. Not since The Shack, anyway, where I saw more than one man wiping tears as they were walking out.

Not a chance. A movie about two heterosexual white people isn't going to win ANYTHING in 2018.

Ouch!! Good Point

The Favourite says "hello".

I don’t like this type of movie and think nothing of Lady Gaga, but I agree, this movie deserves all the awards it gets. My wife forced me to watch this and I was thoroughly impressed by it.
Good job by Bradley too as director and Gaga made me eat humble pie.

Tough one to call this year, I don't think it win for Best Actor or Best Screenplay. Although I thought Cooper was very good in the film. I think Alfonso Cuaron's (Roma) is looking more likely to take Best Director. Best Picture is up in the air, wouldn't surprise me the film wins for that. Best Actress, Lady Gaga has a good chance for it but Olivia Coleman for the Favorite is scooping up a lot of Best Actress awards and Glen Close could be in for a shout too. IT will win for Best Song that's for sure.

I think Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Song is the films best bets

Snubbed for Best Director. Apparently the Academy thinks this movie directed itself.

Its Time...for Sam Elliott. (He abides.)
