Let's see, Madonna CAN'T sing, or really dance, OR act (just like her '80's cohort, Janet Jackson). But
Gaga, who is an incredible singer (and, judging from the reviews, a pretty damned good actor) is supposed
to be "stealing" from Madonna.
Uh-huh.
Madonna (and Janet Jackson, among others) would've never had a "musical" career before the 1980's. Her
entire persona is dependent on the visual. Gaga has no choice but to do music videos, but her stunning
musicianship isn't dependent on the video.
Everyone is influenced by everyone (remember when people were accusing Madonna of "borrowing" from
Marilyn Monroe?). Certainly Gaga's visuals are influenced by the MTV era, but she would've been a star
whether Madonna was around or not.
And you know it.
And to hope her film flops is childish, and indicative of the OP's needing a life.
I don't see her stealing much from MTV's era... but she has lifted some musical element from Madonna's old stuff... made it better, and wasn't as blatant as some artists that flat out steal the whole damn thing from a artist of the past.
shareLady Gaga has genuine musical talent. Madonna has very, very little, despite her strong creative arc.
