A lot of praise for Bradley Cooper's remarkably "assured" direction, as well as his acting. Would be something to see an actor direct himself to an Oscar nomination - in his directorial debut. When is the last time that has happened?

A few are praising Lady Gaga and a couple are suggesting Oscar noms.

Even with Bradley Cooper calling the shots, that's pretty impressive.
