Where did the mirrors go? and Are all the hosts conscious? (spoilers)

Where have the mirrors gone from the big stone chimney at the end?

When the seeker's host regains consciousness, she says she's been screaming for years. Is that unusual or are all the hosts still rattling around inside their minds?

I understand the seeker was pissed because she can hear her host screaming, and I assume that is rare otherwise they'd all be going barmy.

But are the hosts minds all conscious the whole time they're possessed? 'Cause that would suck.

...then whoa, differences...

 It has been a while since I've seen the movie. I know they can move the mirrors so that they don't reflect the light. Could it be they're there, but hidden in the shadows?

I think it depends on the age, strength, and determination of the host. I think there are those who fight back ... those who give up and disappear into the abyss of their own minds ... and those who give in and try to cohabitate with the parasite controlling their bodies.

It would also depend on personalities as well. I'm sure there would be some who'd be grateful for someone else to take over.  And those who are control freaks would be screeching to the heavens.

In the book, Wanda said that The Seeker was very young and inexperienced, and this is why she handled her circumstances with Lacey so badly.

Earth was the Seeker's first planet, and Lacey her first host.

... ... ...

Lacey, told the humans that [The Seeker] had never truly been able to control her host's spirit and that was why she had become a Seeker and been so angry and violent.

... ... ...

Lacey was the Seeker's host, and like Melanie, remained alive after insertion. She and the Seeker do not like each other, as evidenced when Lacey was surprised that Melanie and Wanderer were friends, suggesting Wanda must have brainwashed Melanie.

'enery the eighth I am I am..."

and so forth ad nauseam.

 I love that song.

I take it this just isn't your cup of tea. Nothing wrong with that. I hope you find stories more to your liking. Have you read the "I Am Number Four" series? The "Outlander" series?

I'm more of a heavy sci-fi fan, Arthur C Clarke, Peter F Hamilton etc.

Like to get my nerd on.
