Why not simply wear contact lenses to pose like aliens?
Did all the optician stores get closed?
If the eyes would be the characteristic of a taken over human, wouldn't it be just easier to put similar contact lenses in mass-production so that humans could live their own lives without the fear to be 'taken over' at any time.

Since they could heal wounds easily why would they need glasses?

Learn to read? Where did I mention glasses?

If the humans would wear contact lenses like the eyes of the aliens they would not have to hide for the aliens..
Also, the humans couln't heal wounds easily..

So again for those who are a bit slow... why would they stock glasses (or contacts) since the aliens would have eradicated the need for them? Where would the humans make new ones? In a cave on a workbench?

why would they stock glasses (or contacts) since the aliens would have eradicated the need for them?

You really expect that the last remaining humans will go to the aliens for health care..?
They are hiding in inside a mountain for a reason.. dumbass..

You didn't take long to sink down to personal abuse did you?

Again, I'll ask you... how and where would remnant humans make such contact lenses? Especially ones that glow. (Clue: It's not a good idea to shove radium etc into the eye)

The aliens took over quietly. They amassed a large number of 'hosts' before they could be stopped. By the time the humans learned of the invasion, it was far too late. The humans had to go underground in order to survive, thus the option to create contact lenses to replicate the alien's tell-tale sign was no longer feasible.

If the eyes would be the characteristic of a taken over human, wouldn't it be just easier to put similar contact lenses in mass-production so that humans could live their own lives without the fear to be 'taken over' at any time.

Humans tend to have anger issues ... competitiveness ... selfishness ... and a whole slew of other bad traits that the aliens lacked, therefore they would have stuck out like a sore thumb.

If you haven't read the book, and you want to know more about the story/world, you should read it.

Before you ask. The silver ring around the iris shines in bright light. It isn't noticeable under normal circumstances. That is why the humans shine flashlight beams into the eyes of those they don't know.
