I lasted up until she starts dialoging with herself.

I had no idea this movie existed but the premise as summarized by my TV made it seem interesting. Immediately the film seemed like it would be meh but then the shots of all these perfect looking human/alien people and the pretty but not too much lead figure and some very tacky camera shots meant to highlight something edgy or oh so cool but failing... then she starts talking to the alien in her body and it sounds like a 13 year old girl wrote the script.

How am I not surprised that this is associated with Twilight. Gross.

It is the alien that has control of the body, so Wanda is the one conversing with the human who was forced into submission inside.

That concept works a lot better in a book, it doesn't really work in a movie.

Consider the daffodil. And while you're doing that I'll be over here looking through your stuff.

It might have worked under different circumstances. 

I really just recommend reading the book. Its much easier to put it on paper than it is to act it out. 2 minds inside 1 body.

The Melanie dialogue was atrocious. Like, every aspect of it. One, just poorly written. Sometimes it felt like she didn't know how to speak above an elementary school level. Two, every once in a great while some sort of Cajun accent would slip in for a syllable or two and then disappear. Without a doubt one of the poorest aspects of this movie.
