Insulting

I'm about 20 minutes into this film, and I'm finding it trivializing and insulting to the history of the Scopes trial. Are we to believe this was concocted as a tabloid attempt at sensationalism? I'll try to watch the rest of it, but the sound track/music is very distracting, and the cuteness of the reporter and his girlfriend is annoying. This could have been such great period piece. Sad.

Updated: Okay, according to Wiki, it was indeed a contrived event.

I'm with you. I was all pissed off till a little research says I've been fed a lot of crap growing up. It's scarey peering behind the curtain.
