Heard bad things - and of course my pet peeve was the little details....

Apparently a lot of people I know who saw this were confused, really confused by the narrative. Since I study WW2, I'm bugged by the protagonist's modern hair style. Seriously? The correct haircut for a German Officer is still a stylish haircut by today's standards, ultra short on the sides and back and long on top. If an 'officer' had such shaggy hair, I wouldn't be the only person suspicious of his identity. Officers were picky about their professional grooming and standards. Only officers trapped in places of constant combat like the Eastern Front would let their grooming standards fall short.

Little details like that, so easily fixed but they are not, tells me a lot about the mindset of the filmmakers.
