Why has Showtime distanced itself from The Big C?

Many Showtime shows from the past and present are currently available on demand, yet this seems to be the one glaring omission; was there a falling out between creator and network? It seems as if Showtime is trying to deny it being part of its past - there's not even a mention of the show on the current website. Just curious as to what could have happened, any information would be appreciated.

I was wondering the same thing. They also removed all the Big C videos off their Youtube page.

That's what I would like to know!!! Every single show showtime has done is present EXCEPT The big C!!!!! We want our big C dammit

I'd be surprised if they were ashamed, as the show won Laura Linney a Golden Globe and an Emmy - and it won the Emmy in its final season, which is no mean feat!

They may feel it has limited re-watch value (which, I grant you, would be strange), or there may be some deal that went bad between the series' creators and Showtime.

Well i wanted to rewatch it. It's not on Showtime Anytime or Netflix. I am curious as to the exact reason why as well.

Boredom is bullsh#t.

Could be due to its extremely bad ratings and / or the cast's inability to make it big since the show ended. Compare it to United States of Tara where two of its stars have gone on to win Oscars and has the pedigree of being backed by Stephen Spielberg and Diablo Cody. Also, you might want to consider that the third season of the show is largely thought of as one of the worst seasons of any show ever. I mean, that season literally killed the show.
