Laura's Acting

is *beep* fantastic. She is brilliant, she's effortlessly realistic and natural. Regardless of how people feel about this season as a whole and the season finale, Laura's acting has remained remarkable. Give this woman an Emmy!

Agreed. It's amazing that any TV show was able to get her, especially in a role as demanding as Cathy. When she was sobbing on the boat in the finale, I felt exactly how I feel when someone really cries; a mixed boat of wanting to laugh to make them feel better while also sympathizing with them, but not quite understanding. It was perfect and Laura really does make this show.

The door to both the beginning and the end of the world is open at last.

She's the reason I kept watching this crap season. She's magnificent!

Same with me, CalendarGirl! I've hated this season but I keep coming back for Ms. Linney. I actually like everyone in the cast (I tolerated Cynthia Nixon last season). It's the writing that was awful. What a waste of talent. Here's hoping they can get "it" back next season if there is one.

She really is an amazing talent, I just hope that we get to see a little more of her next season because I felt she didn't get the chance to be truly great in season 3, as she was in seasons 1 and 2 (through no fault of her own).

I know right? She's incredible.

Great scene!

Absolutely. I love her. I can't stand the brother and the son. I fast-forward through their scenes.

I think I'll have a large order of prognosis negative.

reply

Very good. Especially in season 4 when her health deteriated.
