Masterpiece

God knows how much I love horror movies, and how many ive watched. I cant believe all the negative reviews about this movie.. I would go as far as calling this movie a masterpiece. its not perfect of course, but by far one of the best horror thriller movies ive seen in my life.

I am a fan of psychologic horror, like this one. I don't even consider that other type, blood porn, to be nothing else than a contest who can stand most the disgust.

I am also a fan of psychological thrillers. I can watch gore/horror as well as I'm not particularly squeamish, but I prefer films that are dark and unsettling on an emotional level.

However no way in hell would I consider 'Los ojos de Julia' a masterpiece. If you're looking for a far more successful psychological thriller, I'd recommend the Korean film 'A Tale of Two Sisters' (original title = 'Janghwa, Hongryeon'). The cinematography is beautifully shot, the acting is topnotch, the plot actually makes sense, and the emotional climax... well let's just say it really kicks you in the guts. Whatever you do, though, don't get it confused with the crappy American remake ('The Uninvited')... .

Great movie, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it a masterpiece.

Name a couple of horror movies that you consider to be better than this? this is 100% in the top 10 horror movies of the decade, for me anyway. I guess its subjective, but this was just really well crafted.

A little late on my comment Rockin', but I'm with you. Given the genre. The Spanish seem to have a lock on decent horror / suspense these days. If you haven't seen 'Sleep Tight (Mientras duermes)' or 'Six Tales To Keep You Awake' I highly recommend them!

Sleep Tight will mess you up good!
