The unintended message

The protagonist is a straight/bi guy who goes gay-for-pay to make a living. The sex that he had with the closeted married man is violent and nasty, and he is ashamed and broken by it.

I'm sure the filmmakers are all gay-friendly people but I couldn't help noticing that the unintended message of this short is that the gay world is secretive, violent, seedy, and lacking all the tenderness and love that are shown briefly at the end by the protagonist and his girlfriend.
