It was a great movie to begin with.. but towards the end..

I really loved the movie from the beginning and towards the midpoint of the movie.
The Andy Lau, Jackie Chan and Jet Li lookalikes were awesome. Great, comedy, great action and alot of creativity.

But then towards the end it became entirely cliched, ridiculous even for a far fetched action/comedy such as this and entirely nonsensical.

The Indiana Jones style of puzzles/traps and the whole scene was unoriginal, however I could deal with it.
*spoilers*

But the fact that the "treasure" turned out to be just a spade and there was nothing else. Just ruined everything.

I know that it was intended as a plot twist and that the concept of "treasure" is not always about gold, jewelry and wealth but made to be more philosophical in nature. I was prepared for the treasure to be something unexpected.
They've done this kind of stuff in other movies so I was expecting that.

But what made this completely ridiculous is if you consider how closely guarded the treasure was.
It was hidden in a cave with deadly traps and even a special mechanism for opening the treasure chest. The only clue of the treasure's location was in a special kind of map that was also cryptic in nature.

The fact that someone went through such lengths to keep a simple ordinary spade as a treasure was just so ridiculously stupid when you think about it.
It made no sense even for a movie such as this that it became almost insulting.

Basically, the audience sat and watched through an hour and a half (or however long this movie is) just for the main chars to find a simple spade??
It was very disappointing in the end. Since the entire movie was building up towards the mystery of the treasure and people fighting and clamoring over it and then the "treasure" turned out to be practically almost nothing.
I wasn't expecting gold, diamonds etc but at least it should have been something equally meaningful.
