Pretentious

I rarely use that word. Is it me or does this movie feel like someone trying to write like McCarthy and falling short?

Mediocre play. Samuel L. Jackson good as usual, despite some of the hokey lines he had to deliver. Tommy Lee Jones not even trying---just saying his lines like he couldn't wait to get out of there. (TLJ also directed, but there wasn't much to direct with just two actors (well, one actor and one zombie) and a limited set.)

You must have not caught what the movie was about. Samuel L. Jackson's character was a religious and deeply happy man. Tommy Lee Jones' character was literally a suicidal shell of a man. He played the character very well.
