What Was the Worst Thing That 'Black' Had Ever Done?

What was the worst thing that 'Black' had ever done?

Was it suicide?

I thought it to be the suicide.

Probably suicide. But what if the worst thing was that he never had faith? His whole outlook on life would have been different. Just a thought.

Also, Samuel L. Jacksons character never said the worst thing he'd ever done. What do you think it was? He mentioned he had two boys but they were dead. Did he kill them? He also said he gave up drinking. Maybe he was driving drunk and had his boys in the car and wrecked and killed them.

He's living in purgatory? Maybe Black is a person who committed suicide. Maybe he killed himself and in order to redeem himself he must act as a bridge to other souls who have killed themselves, help them go over to life everlasting.
And when White leaves, white will be stuck in the purgatory for a long long time.

Another theory is that Black killed his family, maybe in a drunken stupor he killed them all and that's why he was in prison for so long, where he gave up drinking, and took up christ after being nearly stabbed to death.

I don't know though, the theory could go either way

Is this a joke? I haven't watched it for a while. I am currently in a production of the play and no where does Black ever say that. The script of the movie is pretty much the same as the play, they cut out a few bits and change the order of certain words, but nowhere does Black ever say this.

He was in prison. Maybe it was sexual assault followed by murder.

Don't know if it was sexual assault - but he definitely says he was in prison for murder. Given Samuel L Jackson's acting around his worst thing confession, I think he murdered a loved one. Wife, or possibly child. He says he has no children left, never that he never had any.
