How slowly paced can a programme be?

Verily I say unto thee...this has to be the most leisurely paced quiz show on TV and is like something from the 1950's. I don't dislike it and watch it occasionally but some of the exchanges between Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman are as pointless as the show's title and surely the show could be edited better to speed it up.Its no "The Chase" and that's for sure.

I'd say it benefits from being leisurely actually. The first series had 5 couples, so moved much faster, but was worse for it.

I'm Addy. Just Addy. From God, to Kane, to Addy.

No it's a million times better than the Chase.

reply

Yeah, I agree, it is very different to the Chase. However I like them both...

I love most of the interaction between Richard and Alexander, some of it is too much, b ut a lot of it I like...

If you don't like the personal interaction then yes, you will prefer the Chase.

There can be a lot of Pointless cut out cause it is just filler, like the repeating of the questions between Richard and Alexander... A lot of the times they are just repeating each other and the same question is asked 3 times. But other than that I like the interactions.

I too like the show, but it's the mind numbing banter between the host and the contestants that gets to me, just tell us your job and where you live and move on.

It's a simple question Doctor, would you eat the Moon if it were made of ribs?

reply

Or rather it's a quiz show where you can submit your answers and go do other things, make tea, come back a couple of minutes later to get your answers confiremd and not have missed anything.

Anybody ever watch that No Win, No Fee that used to be on day time telly a few years back?

There'd be like 4 questions every episode.

reply

Well it is a lot better than Eggheads and I have never managed to watch an episode of that.
