Why is it stated as 2010 for the year of the movie?

Has it been released anywhere? This is the first I have heard about it and can't seem to find it anywhere for purchasing so has this film come out yet?

Only thing I'm assuming is it was filmed a while ago and just got picked up by a studio for a theatre release in which case not sure why they would back date it.

IMDb.com usually list the year of the film based on the first screening it has. In this case, the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2010. It did take a moment for the film to get picked up for a theatrical distribution, thus it now getting a release this month.
