Good movie ...

I am THAT guy that will watch 20 "crap" movies, just in the hope I might find a good one! Even movies totally out of my normal viewing "likes" or "categories", (which tend to run in the "horror" and "action-adventure" areas)! I watched this movie, simply, because it had Abigail Breslin in it.
It turned out to be a really good movie! Not perfect, but very good ... AND ... the ending wasn't what I expected! Give it a view!

The story is completely predictable, but it knows it's predictable and isn't trying to be unpredictable. It grabs a solid B because the two main characters are well-written and well-played. It's a genuinely touching little film that completely earns its emotional response without an ounce of manipulation, triteness, or phoniness.

And it gets bonus points for getting the music details right. The scene where Ethan teaches Janie the song with the G, C, Cm, and D chords was spot-on, e.g., Ethan telling Janie she can just keep playing the G chord while he plays the descending riff (because in fact that actually creates a nice harmony, but he doesn't have to say that to her because she'd understand).

Prepare your minds for a new scale of physical, scientific values, gentlemen.
