The house is immaculate and then I look at the roof and it looks like stones from heaven have fallen a top? lol. Is this a norm thing in California? It just looks SO weird to me. As weird as this show, love it.

shareI was wondering that as well. I looked up "rocks on the roof" online and came up with two purposes for those rocks: helping to cool the house and/or acting as ballast for the roof tiles in a windy climate.
What I loved about those rocks is that they made Helen's house seem weighed down, oppressed, despite the birds and flowers on the inside and the roses on the outside.
