Wow, it looked, very, very real!!! Is this actor truly handicapped? No limbs?

Or this was some type of computer CGI effects?

I'm pretty sure those were just special effects. Didn't they show him in the movie with arms and legs?

Yes, there's a shot of him leaving to go to war and he's standing and has both arms so it's trick photography and/or cgi being used to show him limbless.

Also if u look closely u can see that his arms are pressed very closely by his side whilst wearing clothes. However, I think it was very well done.
