This was NOT a bad movie

The underwater photography of the sharks and sea life was beautiful. And the story wasn't bad either. The bad reviews must be from people who had preconceived ideas as to what the movie was going to be about. I went into it with none. And was pleasantly surprised.

Actually, it wasn't horrible. But the nonstop chaos between the characters got way old way fast. I really have no idea why they did that... It seemed to serve no purpose but it was definitely annoying.
Much better than i expected it would be though. Imdb ratings throw me for a loop to often any more. I find the artsy fartsy movies (that i hate) rate higher than should be and sometimes perfectly decent movies rated in the 4's and sometimes 3's.
I really gotta stop the bad habit of deciding whether to watch a movie or not based on imdb. Seems the film critic wannabes have skewed the ratings system to a point where they've become nearly obsolete for me.

The only good thing about this was the shots of sharks. The writing was awful, didn't care about Berry's character or the dude she was arguing with a lot and whatever their Laguna beach drama was. I guess the only slightly decent character was the father, if you wanted him to die, then they nailed it.

Did you actually feel it was the slightest bit realistic? Ask yourself whether a boat owner could behave like that in real life and not face prosecution? And yet the end scene suggests that she goes back to being a "shark expert" with absolutely no legal repercussions. It's ridiculous.🐭
