Not all of Benchley's works where great like Jaws. So like wise I'm comparing "Dark Tide" to his other work like " The Deep" and " The Island". Too many stupid over indulgent fake reviewers are having a hissy fit and loving to hate this movie all to fast. "Dark Tide" deserves better then below 5 rating.

Clearly this movie went for the scenic route over, big time shark attacks. Too many wanted/ expected a Jaws Clone or tongue in cheek Sharknado , If thats how the movie was marketed to the masses, yeah its going to get flack, because its nether of those things.

And you know what Im a fan of Turistas and I love Halle Berry, does that make me bias, yeah it does, Do ultimate Jaws fans love "Jaws: The Revenge"? No but they watch it because its part of the mythos of Sharks vs people.

The big difference is that in Jaws and The Deep none of the characters behaved in the out and out stupid fashion we see Kate and her buddies doing in this film. And she's supposed to be an "expert".

I would have preferred a half way decent story that was possibly semi-realistic. What was dished up was absolute rubbish! No wonder it has a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.🐭
