Halle: One of the worst actresses ever...

Yes, I know she won an Oscar. I know people think her turn in Monster's Ball was awesome, but I thought the entire movie sucked rocks... totally horrible (IMHO).

Halle Berry's primary asset is her... body. She's one of the most beautiful women in the entire world, no doubt. Swordfish, Die Another Day, Catwoman, these are the movies where her greatest asset, her body, is on display (And just about the only highlight of Monster's Ball.).

This movie seems to return to capitalizing on her greatest asset once more, her incredible beauty.

The woman is a horrible, horrible actress, and yet one of the world's most beautiful women. I can watch her in Swordfish (Hell, she's the only thing worth watching in that movie.), but don't ever expect awesome acting from her.

This movie looks unwatchable, as are most movies that feature her... unless she shows skin.

She's a good actress, she just picks bad scripts.

I disagree with the OP Halle is A GOOD ACTRESS when given the right material. Has the OP seen Things We Lost In A Fire? Or Introducing Dorothy Dandridge? Or TV films Queen and Their Eyes Were Watching God? Halle can act she just doesn't get the quality scripts because she's a black actress.

Knew the race card had to pop up somewhere. She has been HORRIBLE in the vast majority of her movies. That's why she has to resort to running around half naked in them. I can say the same about several white actresses. Bad is bad. Doesn't matter the color.

I'm just browsing the comments... It's really funny how MOST humans will say an actor/actress SUCKS or is GREAT (and they ruined the movie OR made it tolerable etc, biased myopic people placing false dichotomies inside their brains for some sheep-like purpose (?)...). I'd rate her an 8 out of 10 as an actress. She's not perfect, she's not crappy. She is better than average. The fact that she's very attractive helps, but didn't influence my rating. She's an easy 9 in the looks department IMO, not that looks should matter when grading skill. Most men would agree she's very attractive.

That was a simple unbiased assessment, not a rambling bunch of ignorant sounding crap.

I live to learn and make mistakes. My goal is to have fun while doing so.

She is a average actress. If it wasn't for her bad choice of scripts, then I would call her a great actress. But saying she is a horrible actress is dead wrong, imo.

Things We Lost in the Fire
and
Frankie & Alice

Two movies I think are not necessarily credited to her body. Thats acting. Same in Monster Ball, but I agree the oscar might be biased because of her sex scene.

Regardless, there are actress out there who I would call bad for definitive. But then again, thats just a subjective opinion. Each his own.

To those who excuse Berry on the grounds that she is not a bad actress but a good one who chooses bad scripts: what's the OPERATIONAL difference between a bad actress and a good one who chooses bad scripts? The she-chooses-bad-scripts people can only point to the script - there's no evidence you can point to of good acting. She's an untalented actress.

You have been given several examples of her performing admirably. She is (at least) a good actress. On the other hand, she has very little talent for spotting a good script/role!

Yeah, but Kristen's admitted she's only doing the films for the money. She's decent in pretty much everything else she does besides the Twilight films.

I was going to disagree with you using the very same "Monsters Ball" argument you mentioned, but then I thought about it and you're right. The more I think about it, the more terrible I realise she is.

I think I've been blinded by her hotness all these years. lol

NOT one of the worst actresses ever.

She's no Meryll Streep or Glenn Close either.

She has more misses than hits in films she's chosen.
