lost sympathy for the girl

i oppose the evilness of human trafficking in all its form. Kidnapping innocent women by deception so they get sold as sex slaves or forced labour but i had thought the girl was one of many innocent victims till she admitted she was a strip dancer in her home country and a prositute so therefore i was thinking serves her right. The movie just went downhill and the story just fell apart about 10 mins from conclusion.

I find that a totally disgusting attitude - to maintain that once a woman enters the sex trade, she's not a woman any more, she's just a whore. So it's okay to kidnap, drug, beat and rape them, because whores always deserve it.

That's vile. This was a woman not proud of what she was doing, and hoping that this trip was going to finally be her way out, to start over doing something that WASN'T sex-related. But your attitude is that it's okay to force her into prostitution for the rest of her life, because anything that happens to whores, it serves them right.

Presumably, if you were the driver in this film, you would have simply delivered her and not cared a damn about what happened to her. Congratulations, you are officially more evil, callous, and misogynistic than a fictional character who makes a living transporting desperate, frightened sex slaves.

The point is that as a stripper/hooker she'd have to be a moron to believe that job offer. What happens is that when these hookers are arrested they make up harrowing stories to get sympathy, get off of any criminal charges, and possibly even be awarded a visa and other benefits. Why does anyone need to be kidnapped when there is an endless supply of girls eager to do the work? Filthy, bloody, scared merchandise is not going recoup any pimp's investment. It might make sense to use slaves in low-margin dirty manual labor in sweatshops, fields, etc., but prostitution is skilled customer-oriented profession.

Timlin-4 thanks for clarifying the OP's "point", since apparently you know him & his intentions thoroughly. Appreciate that. While both of your opinions are ridiculous, it doesn't take a genius to understand that he actually wasn't making the "point" you took it upon yourself to elaborate on. Read again.. It's clear that he actually wasn't stating what you are pretending he was.

If i recall, she admitted to being a stripper in a club - "a whore by your definition"(or words to that effect). She didn't admit to being a prostitute- only admitted that she was a "whore" in HIS eyes.

That being said, she was justified in asking what gave HIM the right to kidnap her, bind her and deliver her like a piece of property. A prostitute (like any other human being) still has a right to her own body.

I just can't grasp the mentality of losing sympathy for any human being who is treated in such a manner. Even a lower form of human being- like a congressman- deserves the sympathies and support of the human race.

My "#3" key is broken so I'm putting one here so i can cut & paste with it.

Being a prostitute doesnt require any skill whatsoever, most start when they are minors because they are forced, addicted to drugs, or live in poverty. Likely a combination. Please educate yourself on reality before you spout your bullcrap everywhere. There isnt an endless supply of girls eager to be prostitutes, that notion is laughable at best

Dude, that's just moronic. So what you're saying is, she deserved to be kidnapped, beaten, sold into slavery, etc. because she worked in a strip club.

From your subject line, I thought you were going to say something more intelligent, like you lost sympathy for her when she passed up opportunity after opportunity to escape, or how she went back to the wrecked van and helped her abductor. Or how she still shows compassion for her abductor in the end...yeah, he helped save her from the traffickers, but whatever...the cops were right there and she was safe, but took her time to have a tender moment with that vile scum.

But no, you just displayed an incredible amount of ignorance. But the wonderful thing about being ignorant is that you don't know you are, so it shouldn't affect you.

She never said she was a prositute. Just a stripper. And you are being a bit harsh.

She doesn't deserve it, nobody does, but I can see what you are saying in that she was partially to blame because of her lifestyle. She may have had to do it to survive though.
If I were a good looking girl, you bet your arse that I would be shaking my money maker!! Especially knowing what I know now, I would make a fortune!!
I know I will get plenty of negative comments for this but so what! I'm long past being sensitive to criticism! So, KISS IT in advance!!

So many disgusting attitudes towards women who dance and strip for a living. I wonder if they were male strippers (whom are always glorified in movies such as Magic Mike, The Full Monty, Chippendale's) were kidnapped and sold into forced rape and sodomy if you would be saying the same ignorant *beep* Slut-shaming *beep*
