A mother in a fictional univese would be represented with some 3d model. So are these 3d little sisters meant to be innocent girls, how can you harvest them?

I believe the impact of saving Little Sisters was reduced in the second one.
I disagree. I felt like a hero(and a monster) when I saved/harvested the Little Sisters. Mostly from their reactions to you.

"I'm going to tell the other sisters that I have the BEST daddy."

You actually feel like a great/horrible daddy to these fictional "little sisters." Maybe because they're so darn adorable in this game.

I gotta agree with Batmanuel. Their reactions were so heart-rending, I felt like crap every time I killed one of them.
Way harder than when I chose to shoot Mordin in the back in Mass Effect 3. By far.
