Yay, another movie with Gabourey 'Gabby' Sidibe

I am really excited to see this movie because Gabourey 'Gabby' Sidibe is in it. I saw 'Precious' tonight and she was brilliant. A really really talented actress! I will watch anything she is in!!

reply

I agree. She also has a movie called What Would You Do in the works. I'm excited to see her as well as Shareeka Epps (where has she been? lol) and Zoe Kravitz.

reply

Really? ''What is ''What Would You Do'' about? I'm excited for any project Gabby is involved in!

reply

I don't know the plot yet, sorry. It was just mentioned in some article I read.

reply

Wow...looking at the date of that post,..this movie was shot in 2009???

reply

I can't watch her films because fat people disgust me. You would think with a bit of success she would be able to afford healthy food and a gym membership?

reply

You would think you'd be able to avoid being an obnoxious shallow twat considering people obviously don't like being around you. Might not be as easy as it sounds, try changing your personality and you might get some perspective. You may even be able to watch movies with fat people. Or is this just your online personality?

reply

I can watch movies with fat people in but in the same way I can watch movies about mass-murderers - they both disgust me. Why does that make me an "obnoxious twat"? I thought it made me honest.
I treat fat people with the same human decency I show people with any other medical condition but that doesn't mean I encourage them to be happy with their problem. Perhaps it is you that needs to get some perspective? Or are you just another fat person in denial and blaming "glands"? By the sounds of it, yes.

reply

That's a ridiculous comparison, who doesn't hate mass murders? They don't belong in society any disgust they get is well-deserved. Fat people are everywhere and probably would show you more respect than you're giving them. I don't encourage them either I just keep my mouth shut. Why add to the sh't they already get by letting them know you're disgusted at the sight of them as well, if you think that's human decency you need a new dictionary. Go ahead and assume I'm fat, I'm not an intolerable prick so I won't lose any sleep.

My original post said:

I really don't see why such a comment makes me an "intolerant prick". Like you I "keep my mouth shut" when I am dealing in person with a fat person. I really doubt it is news to them that people are disgusted by their fatness. I merely questioned why such a person as the actor in question would persist in such an unhealthy state in spite of her success -success that obviously would of allowed her the resources to eat good quality food, hire a trainer, dietitian, gastric bypass surgery, or whatever else was necessary. I don't understand why you find such a query so "intolerant".

Cool story, bro.

@shoutatthesky

You know what, though? Fat people are told practically every day by society that's there's something wrong with them because they're fat. Trust me, they don't need you to tell them that---they get enough of it already. It is not your job to tell a fat person what to do with their own body, nor is it none of your damn business,so back the hell up off them. If the person's doing nothing to you, what the hell do you care? They already know what to do. Also, do you treat extremely skinny people with the same disrespect you treat a fat person? No,because that's more acceptable, apparently.

reply

If they are told every day then why is the message not getting through? The issue is that there are too many people like you telling these overweight people to be happy and comfortable with their bodies rather than take the more difficult option of actually changing. And, yes, I feel the same way about overly skinny people but its a non-issue in society. Fat people are way more prevalent and skinny people, unlike fatties, are not being told that their unhealthy bodies are OK. How about you stop making excuses for being fat (I assume you are seeing as how you're such an apologist) and go outside and do some exercise?

we are conditioned by Madison Ave my friend

i agree w/ you Fargo and as shallow as shoutatthesky is he made some points. i respect Gabourey Sidibe and all pll but i would never date her

reply

Fine if you would never date, but so what-----I'm absolutely sure that she and every other person the same weight she is has been told literally all their life to lose weight, that they're too big or unattractive because they're too big. There's a short interview she did on PBS for World.org in which she talks about how it took her a long time to accept herself for the way she looks. Ironically, the very thing that people are dogging her out for (being huge and fat) is the same thing that makes her stand out and gives her a unique look from other actresses---plus it dosen't seem to have hurt her career in the least. I'm sure that whenever she choses to lose the weight, she will. 'Til then, ain't none of our business if she does or not.
