Why Is This Being Promoted As The Ninth, Isn't It The Tenth Film?
"Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys" was actually the ninth film; however I know that Band was not involved with it.
Is this saying that the "Vs." movie doesn't count?
Full Moon had nothing to do with the VS film so officially to them it's not part of the series, so no it doesn't count. This AXIS is their part 9.

They sold the rights to that particular screenplay PMvsDT so that it could get made. Full Moon had some money troubles, and apparently PMvsDFT cost over a million dollars. Charles Banbd has said in an interview that he has never seen the film, due to the poor fan reaction.
I think Sci-Fi was hoping to get both franchises, but Full Moon refused. So Sci-Fi could only make one film, no more. Sadly I think this might mean Full Moon can never make a new PMvsDT movie. Unless the rights reverted by now.

Also, it was done during the time, from 2003-2004, to try to capitalize off of the Vs. movies of the time right? This was when "Freddy vs. Jason" came out.
