Why this movie sucked ***SPOILERS!***

1. Movie should have been called Ninja Puppet: Axis of Evil since the very little action they showed seemed to focus on Ninja. Main puppets didn't do much.

2. Main character's brother should have come back as Six Shooter, not Ninja but seeing how low budget this movie was I should have suspected he wouldn't show up outside of an easter egg or inside reference.

3. Horrendous acting from the villains. Japanese woman especially. Mediocore acting at best from everyone else.

4. Unintentionally hilarious. "How are they moving?" When none of the puppets moved aside from Tunneler's arm moving down slighty. I believe Danny's brother misused the word "gams" by referencing them as boobs. Bad editing/continuity errors (Japanese guy's death by Tunneler comes to mind.)

5. Lame, abrupt, tacked on cliff hanger ending. More of this crap? No thank you. Especially since we'll have to sit through some more cringe worthy acting from the Japanese actress.

6. Needed more actors or extras to fill in some scenes. I think four was the highest number of people to fill the screen in this movie.

7. Tunneler and Pinhead looked horrible. Pinhead should have been renamed Pez Dispenser in this one.

Ayone care to add more?

How I rank 'em.

Puppet Master 4
Puppet Master 3
Puppet Master
Puppet Master 2
Puppet Master 5
Puppet Master: Axis of Evil
Puppet Master Legacy

Still need to see Curse of Puppet Master.

Have to see Retro Puppetmaster once more.

A couple things I wanted to point out, a continuity error. The film is supposed to be 1939, but as I recall there was a reference to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour, which everyone should've learned by now didn't occure until 1941.

There's also Danny's constant whining about not being able to fight in the war.

And I was not alive back then, but in 1939 were Americans boys really that determined to fight in WWII?

He's a new puppet...of course he's going to get the most screen time, and besides like you point out in another comment, Pin head and tunneler look pretty lame. So you'd prefer them giving screen time to crappy looking puppets, apposed to breathing some new life into the franchise with a new character?

2. Main character's brother should have come back as Six Shooter, not Ninja but seeing how low budget this movie was I should have suspected he wouldn't show up outside of an easter egg or inside reference.

You'd want them to hamfist in a developed character who chronologically didn't make his debut until the third movie? On top of that you wanted them to Retcon his back story and make him some throw away character....
Do you even like this franchise? The Easter egg was fine, anything else would just be shoehorning in stuff for fanwank purposes...

3. Horrendous acting from the villains. Japanese woman especially. Mediocore acting at best from everyone else.

This is a Full Moon Entertainment film, they've NEVER been known for great acting...If you want "great acting" I suggest you go watch something where the premise isn't about killer puppets.

Again, this is a Full Moon Entertainment film, if you came in expecting it to be a blockbuster with no continuity errors you're sadly mistaken..
As for the puppets moving...technically he did move, so I don't know what you're trying to get at?

5. Lame, abrupt, tacked on cliff hanger ending. More of this crap? No thank you. Especially since we'll have to sit through some more cringe worthy acting from the Japanese actress.

Lame and abrupt? We're we watching the same movie? It built up to the moment we got to. If the movie just ended their, that would have been an lame abrupt ending. Plus there is tons more story than can be told. They probably don't want to make future sequels taking place after Puppet master vs Demonic toys for two reasons.
1) They don't know if they should include vs in their main continuity since it wasn't made by them personally. If they include it they'd have to have the puppets as "cyber-Puppets"
2) If they didn't include it, people would get confused continuity wise and not know where the movie takes place?

6. Needed more actors or extras to fill in some scenes. I think four was the highest number of people to fill the screen in this movie.

You're really worried about background characters? Who cares how many people are in a scene, this is a low budget movie. You want them to shell out money for more extras and then have even less movie to make a movie?

7. Tunneler and Pinhead looked horrible. Pinhead should have been renamed Pez Dispenser in this one.

Probably due to lack of funds? Or perhaps the original puppets weren't available anymore since its been so long, maybe they're busted?

This was easily hands down one of the best Puppet Masters made in years.
5 felt nothing like a puppet master movie, with Totems and the "decapitron"
Curse again just didn't feel like a puppet master movie.
Retro was a continuity nightmare.
Legacy was a glorified clip show.
Demonic Toys was....Well no one likes admitting it is in continuity, whats that telling you about it?
So, we havent had a truly outstanding puppet master since 1991?
Nearly 20 years

Axis of Evil went back to the roots, used stock footage and expanded upon it with new actors in different perspectives.
It was a breath of fresh air the series desperately needed and I for one hope we get more movies like this from the franchise.

That one is my favorite of the sequels.

Last I checked, this movie negates pretty much every Puppet Master movie after the first one. Puppet Master 3 is famous for contradicting the first Puppet Master movie since Andre Toulon would have been dead during the events of the third movie. And what back story did Six Shooter have? Anyways...what they did was the equivalent of having a strong man at the circus become a puppet like Jester instead of Pinhead just because he made a joke. The brother should have been Six Shooter since the brother said he'd love to have six arms to shoot at the japs and he saw a John Wayne double billing at the local theater twice. He snuck up on his brother once and he'd be perfect as a ninja? I'd much rather have had Six Shooter in the movie instead of Ninja but oh well...

This is a Full Moon Entertainment film, they've NEVER been known for great acting...If you want "great acting" I suggest you go watch something where the premise isn't about killer puppets.

True, but they should have cast actors that could have done a halfways decent job. Most of the acting in this movie was unintentionally hilarious and bad.

Again, this is a Full Moon Entertainment film, if you came in expecting it to be a blockbuster with no continuity errors you're sadly mistaken..
As for the puppets moving...technically he did move, so I don't know what you're trying to get at?

When the woman said that they were moving, they weren't. After she said the line, Tunneler's hand moved down a bit. That was it. That's why I found it funny.

Lame and abrupt? We're we watching the same movie? It built up to the moment we got to. If the movie just ended their, that would have been an lame abrupt ending. Plus there is tons more story than can be told.

Lame and abrupt. Nazi dies, Ninja's eyes fade out, Japanese woman escapes with all the Puppets.(Except Blade, Pinhead, Tunneler which is kind of funny since the main character could have easily said "she took Jester and Leech Woman!") Boy says he'll give "them a war."(or something like that) Roll credits.

They probably don't want to make future sequels taking place after Puppet master vs Demonic toys for two reasons.

I'm pretty sure that piece of *beep* isn't canon. So why are we bringing this up?

2) If they didn't include it, people would get confused continuity wise and not know where the movie takes place?

Have you even watched the Puppet Master movies? The continuity has been messed up since part III. Legacy tried to piece it together with negative results.

You're really worried about background characters? Who cares how many people are in a scene, this is a low budget movie. You want them to shell out money for more extras and then have even less movie to make a movie?

They could have had fans fill in some of the scenes or something. Apparently in this movie's universe, there's only eight people in the entire world. Some scenes could have used extras to liven up some of the scenes(make them feel more alive as it were.)

Probably due to lack of funds? Or perhaps the original puppets weren't available anymore since its been so long, maybe they're busted?

They still suck so I don't know why you're arguing this point with me.

Axis of Evil went back to the roots...

How exactly did it go back to it's roots with this piece of junk? Going back it's roots would have the Puppets killing innocent people again and the use of stop motion animation.

...used stock footage...

The remastered stock footage was the best part of the move. I'm tempted to buy the remastered re-release that came out last Tuesday.

I actually like this sequel a lot. I've noticed David DeCoteau directed all the best sequels. The acting wasn't very good, I'll give you that. But the characters were likable and the Japanese lady was the highlight of the film for me. She made me laugh several times, especially when she said "Do not mistake me for one of your Western harlots or one of your German whores." She is one of the best characters I've seen from a movie in a while because she was hilarious.
