Is this movie hard to figure out?

Not really hard to figure out. I mean, I've only seen it once and this is what I got:

1. Laurel Graham is "hired" as Velma Duran by Rafe Tachen as a part of his "land scam", taking on the "role" of Nestor Duran's dead daughter (who died fighting oppression in Cuba), after Rafe finds a copy of Laurel's "resume" online.
2. The scam was performed, Laurel and Rafe fake their deaths by swapping their dental records with the two dead bodies they stole from morgue with the help of the cop and get away scott clean, with Rafe jumping from his airplane and it crashing into the dam and Laurel driving her car into the lake (these scenes are intercut with the scenes involving the actual production). They get away with a lot of cash, in which Laurel gets a cut of.
3. Nathalie Post writes about Velma Duran and Rafe Tachen's story. It is bought and turned into a film starting its preproduction.
4. Mitchell Haven watches Laurel Graham's "resume", leading him to approach her for the role of Velma Duran for his movie.
5. Laurel informs Rafe of being approached for the movie. He tells her not to do it, but since she doesn't have enough money to disappear again, she takes on the project after meeting Mitchell.
6. Basically, all the scenes that show the film in production is present time and plays as they do.
7. After Laurel's death and Bruno's death as well, Mitchell goes to jail. It is there where Nathalie Post is interviewing him to get the story (which we see a few times throughout the film). Nathalie leaves, Mitchell is alone in his cell for what may be the rest of his life, with an image of Laurel to remind him of how things were.

But this one's eating my popcorn!

The most important thing to know is that Laurel is Velma Duran

Laurel agrees to be in the movie about the life and crimes of Velma Duran and Rafe Tachen because she wants to re-live the great adventures of her life but she ends up getting murdered by Bruno the detective who has figured out her secret that Laurel is really Velma Duran and that Velma never died. Mitchell discovers that while making the movie he himself became a character in that movie.

But she was Laurel before and after she was Velma. Right?
