Truth in stereotypes.

None of us have worked at that parking lot and I think it's safe to say that they've learned patterns. If 9 out of 10 people are douche bags that drive a gas-guzzling SUV then it's very easy to lump the odd man/woman out in with the other nine. Or, if your toll board is destroyed a lot by frat boys then that will obviously alter your opinion regarding Greek life. At the same time, the workers at the lot didn't seem to disrespect anyone unless they were disrespected themselves. Fair is fair.
