Tipped cigarettes in 1942?

Sorry to be so pedantic. My Dad who was a soldier in WW2 didn't even smoke tipped cigarettes when they were available! It seemed to be a very well made production of an important event that seems to have received relatively little attention. The script writer Alan Bleasdale has a great pedigree of work and this has certainly added to it.
