I'm car-free, and even I think he is full of crap

You can see it really just in his expression, even before he says a word. I've known plenty of people like that guy, and they are overbearing blowhards.

As I say, I do not currently own a car, walk or bike everywhere, and I support a lot of "green" ideas like living in high density "New Urbanist" areas and trying to prevent urban sprawl. But that's because of more mundane reasons like reducing pollution, encouraging healthy lifestyles, preserving wild green space just for its own sake, and just the general ugliness and wastefulness of suburbia and freeways clogged with single drivers commuting in SUVs. I don't believe we're headed for some huge crisis--that's millennialist alarmism that has been around forever.

I'm much more persuaded by the optimistic outlook presented in this book:

"You can see it really just in his expression, even before he says a word."

So you're essentially admitting that you judged him and thought he was "full of crap" before he said anything basing you assumptions off of the way he looks?

I'm not going to say he is on point with everything, but if you did in fact watch the movie, it's clear the man is educated concerning what he is discussing along with the history behind it.

I see you advocated for a book in your post. If you read often, then I believe it's easy to relate to the old saying "never judge a book by its cover".

A lot of conspiracy nuts are educated; that doesn't make them right. Dick Cheney is educated for that matter, and I expect we both agree that he is full of BS.

I watched the first 15 min. and last 5 min. of the movie, which was more than enough--supplemented with online information about his kooky 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Glad somebody pointed out Abundance. Diamandis really is a rocket scientist, AND he's a doctor. Kotler is a journalist (a real one) and he wrote this book together with Diamandis. They both have a lot more credibility than this Ruppert guy.

In fact, I'm going to make your link clickable.

I disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure you're not Hitler.
