The Fantastic Four are Marvel’s first family. With that honor, you think they would’ve gotten a movie that was great, something that could rival Batman, Superman, and Spidey’s best. Yet the Four’s outings on the big screen have been rocky to say the least. It’s been so bad that the first attempt at a Fantastic Four movie didn’t even get released.
None of the Fantastic Four movies have been good. I think it’s because they’re not good superheroes for the big screen. One turns into fire, one turns invisible, one stretches himself, and one is a pile of rocks. Those powers are not so impressive; maybe if they were all combined in one person, but not by themselves. The characters also don’t have a compelling backstory, and none have charismatic personalities.
shareIf Marvel regains the film rights, either in a buyout of Fox or due to them reverting after a certain amount of time, I think they'll make a new Fantastic Four film and it will be excellent. The team has a great dynamic, with a sibling rivalry intersecting a romantic relationship, and a close friendship challenged by an accident that one is responsible for that turned the other into a monster. There's a reason the Fantastic Four #1 redefined comic books and is considered the beginning of the Silver Age of comics. Add to that the great villains, with Dr. Doom being perhaps the single greatest villain in comic book history, and you have a recipe for some great films.
Also-- it isn't a hero's powers that make film interesting, it's the dialogue, the story, and the interactions between the characters. Think about it-- what are the powers of the various Guardians of the Galaxy members? Starlord has none, Gamora is just strong and a skilled fighter, Drax is just strong, Rocket is a talking raccoon, and Groot is a walking tree, and yet their films are excellent.
The first attempt (1994) was never intended to be released. They had to make a film by a certain time or the rights would have reverted back to Marvel. So the producers made it to buy time. Supposedly the actors and crew were pissed afterwards.

I want movies to do well...but some SJW fuqwits seem to think that Hollywood moviemakers have a right to blame AUDIENCES for their failures when a political element in a film keeps millions away from the theaters.

Most people couldn't care less about political elements in a film. Hell, they don't even notice them.
The only time people ever notice any political element is if the movie they're watching is a political thriller or drama, or involves characters in the government. And the audience for those movies do not share the same reaction as you.
There is also the fact it came out a week after a Mission Impossible movie. And about 3 weeks after Ant Man.
shareBecause it's a humourless, charisma free and totally unoriginal film - and the cast is too young (or at least appears so). It's a pity that some of these are actors I like but they are powerless to lift this load of tosh to adequate. It actually surprised me how dull it is.

However, FF 2015, why did it bomb? Three words, Black Human Torch.
A black Johnny Storm was the least of the film's problems. I'm more upset about what they did to Doctor Doom.
As for the film flopped, it was a combination of the film getting bad press, a director disowning his film before its release, fans being turned off by the film's treatment of the source material, extremely negative reviews, and poor word-of-mouth.
