They promised this would be like the original. This was more like a Friday the 13th movie--lots of gore, very little suspense.

They also promised that this would be the “true” sequel as if it was going to be better than every Halloween sequel (even the good ones), even though it is the most “meh” film of the series.

Im going to disagree on it being the most meh of the series. I put Halloween 5 and Resurrection below this one.

Those are worse films, but 2018 is too mediocre to be neither enjoyably bad nor that great.

Fair point. It certainly has bland teens. Where I like it is Toby Huss. I am a big fan of his work from King of the Hill and the adventures of Pete and Pete. Unfortunately he was a Dad so there's an automatic death.

I feel like it was an over-promise to begin with. This film relied on tons of stupidity to keep it moving, at least for 2018's sake.
