Rewatch

I rewatch Halloween movies that I like yearly. But I don't think I want to see this one again. Honestly, it's much better than many of the films. I just to see a reason to rewatch it.
Anyone else have the same feeling?

Perhaps it's the teens in the movie.

I remember being indifferent about the movie and mostly being okay with it when it first came out, but the more I think about the movie and its details and its bad choice to retcon all sequels from existence and act like it is the "one true official" sequel, the more I dislike it and wish they had acknowledged the sequels. I don't like how the film gives off this pretentious feeling of "we are the official Halloween sequel and you have to say we are the best sequel or else."

I agree. I just saw it again and I do want to give it credit for how Michael Myers was written. I'm not sure why, but he really came off well in this one. I still come back to the teenagers not being a good enough set of characters.

This movie failed to capture the essence of the original and is loaded with feminist nonsense. That is why you don’t feel like rewatching it.

Very true. This isn’t really a movie, it’s a Trojan Horse for woke propaganda, using a beloved old franchise and a returning star to sweeten the pill.

Your body is rejecting it, that’s why you don’t want to revisit it.

I saw it in theaters opening week. I had no interest in rewatching it at any point in the 3 years following it, but ultimately I forced myself to rewatch it ahead of Halloween Kills (2021) to refresh my memory of the current timeline.

In those 3 years from 2018 to 2021 I'd rewatched Halloween (1978) a lot, Halloween II (1981) a number of times and I also watched HIII & H4 once each.

When I left the theater back in 2018 I quite liked it...but it's been going down in my estimations ever since, the rewatch a couple of months back didn't improve it but simply reminded me of it's flaws which I didn't like.

I liked the Michael Myers parts and even the Loomis character, but I'm just sick of Laurie Strode. She is great in the first film but good god it's enough already. The home alone trap in the end also did not interest me for some reason.
