So, Jamie-Lee is regressing by being in this, or wants a lead in a hit-feature?

Hmm...This film is a hit, and either will jump-start her once-serious career, or maybe not since it's another Halloween movie. She must had been paid very well, and probably receives a share of the profits. I'm assuming Halloween producers really want her in the sequels, or I'm wrong and she's lucky to get them.

I don't think she really needs the money, but, let's face it, if it is a hit she may decide to do more. Or at least, produce them or somehow be involved.

reply

I honestly think she just wanted the cash. She admitted that she did Halloween Twenty for the money. She also always seemed ashamed of the Halloween films and tried to distance herself for years.

I think she saw an opportunity in the age of remakes and ran with it..she was smart enough to know this movie would make her a ton of money.

I don't know how much money she is making from this, since the budget was only 10 million (unless she's receiving profit-share, or co-produced)

But that's what I was questioning, if she has more or less resigned to working in Halloween sequels due to not being bankable and cast in more serious roles films anymore. She's already proved herself. Also, at 60, she may have mellowed, doesn't care and just wants to work (like the TV show is she did). Yet, she is receiving a lot, a lot of attention from being in this.

She is back for a pay day and moreso because Hollywood Liberals want to make her Sarah Connor to push the feminist agenda because looking back they feel so bad for making a movie about Male Dominance

Everything doesn't revolve around politics, and it's not at the root of something like Halloween. Jamie Lee's desire to be in this new sequel is a personal interest.

reply

Everything doesn't revolve around politics but Hollywood does

You know something interesting? I was reading how Hollywood was mostly "Republican" at one time; a veteran actor mentioned this. At any rate, people come to Hollywood from all over the country and from all walks of life; so, all of a sudden when they enter L.A., they become "Republican? I dont' get this. What, actors have to sign a contract to switch to being "Liberal" when they are accepted by a film-studio, like they dont' have a mind of their own? You sure it's not just an assumption made by people? Why is New York City not constantly labeled 'Liberal"?

reply

I wouldn't put it quite in those terms but I do believe this is essentially on the money. There's a lot of evidence to support her personal interest being wrapped up in using Halloween to make a timely statement by inverting the pervasive misogynist tendencies that slashers have long been criticized for.

reply

Yes, I know about the misogynist statements regarding slashers, but not when men also get their throat (and assorted body-parts) hacked in those films. It's much like porn; it's soooooo degrading for the poor female "victims" (porn actresses), but male porn actors are never mentioned as exploited victims from abusive childhoods, blah, blah..
