in the trailer they massacre the entire MM mythology with the setup and dialogue!
So 5,6, H20, Ressurection, and Rob Zombie didn't already do that?
They're trying something new with the story and characters. Who knows, maybe it will be the best since the original.
oh, the franchise has already put out multiple shitty movies that tried reconfiguring the MM mythos....
but let's do it again!
Well it's not like Halloween is some pure untouched part of cinema...
It has already been remixed a million times. Even more than the Alien movies... More sequels than Transformers... More than half the Marvel movies count... More movies than fast and the furious... More movies than StarWars... More movies than the Mission Impossible series... More movies than the Scream series... Do you see how many Halloween movies there have been?
As with Alien, which is a genre classic, the original Halloween will always exist and have it's place in the genre, but there have been enough sequels that it is a bit precious to be worried about it being altered now... Save that for movies that have as yet been untouched, not one that is on it's 11th iteration or so...
Halloween has been this was for a long time... This IS what it is and what if has been for a long time... Something to watch while you snack and have a few laughs and scares with friends...

I'm not defending anything... I'm not your enemy, I'm indifferent to whether or not these 12th+ sequel movies get made or are any good. I've simply recognised the fact that Halloween has already been altered beyond recognition of the original movie...
I find it hard to get worked up about yet another movie in this series... As with the Alien series, after a lot of mediocre sequels, we got to see a decent movie 'Prometheus' and an average, but fun one, 'Covenant'... It was difficult to be precious about Alien by that stage as this was after a lot of silly movies like Aliens (turned the Alien into bugs vs. GI joe) and the various Alien vs predator movies, the Resurection comedic sequel, etc...
So, whether this Halloween movie is good or not, it doesn't really matter to me at this stage as the series has already distorted the original so much over the 10 movies or so...
I probably won't watch it either as I haven't seen half of this series. It's been stale for ages... Then again, I tend not to watch many series anyway...

Which is why I avoided Rob Zombie's Halloween II like the plague. The only reason I own that movie is because it's part of the box set.
I'm eagerly awaiting Halloween (2018) and so should you, or you're not a real fan. share

if you're eagerly awaiting this new H movie you must love american horror story, insidious, and other millennial crap they throw at easily-pleased fans these days
