What doesn't make sense considering they're ignoring the sequels

Why is Laurie so paranoid and convinced Michael is coming for her? I mean in the 1st movie he was just a psycho killing random babysitters, she just so happened to be one of the babysitters on that street that night. Since they aint siblings no more why would she think he'd be so determined to come for her again?

Since they're ignoring the sequels, Laurie has only had that 1 altercation with Michael over 40 years ago for like 30 minutes that one night. Yet in the trailer shes acting as if they have this huge history of him constantly trying to kill her.

Why would you think some crazy guy that attacked you over 40 years ago would be thinking about coming and attacking you again when you was just 1 of the many he came after that night?

Its like they're ignoring the sequels and brother/sister connection but they're still having her behave as if all of that happened.

reply

You're right. They shouldn't have made the movie at all.

SMDH Seek help, loser crybaby

Go fuck yourself, you fucking spineless twit.

She probably has PTSD from the whole thing. Plus, he primarily stalked her that entire day, and he killed her friends before coming after her. She’s the only one that escaped. She probably thinks he wants to come back and finish the job. I do agree with you, though. Even if she did have PTSD, she is acting like they’re still siblings sort of.

Because deep down Danny Mcbride knows his bitch ass can't write nothing

reply

Says the dipshit loser crybaby who just wrote "can't write nothing". LOL get back to the school education you DESPERATELY need, moron troll

Unnecessary passive aggressiveness.

I can see it being a part of her, but I think its not logical for her to go full Sarah Connor when the man has been held for 40 years. There is no reason to believe someone that would be very old by then would represent a legitimate threat and would even seek her out even if he did escape, they eliminated that motivation with the quite frankly cheesy sister line in the trailer.

reply

Post traumatic stress.

reply

You are absolutely correct. They are trying to eat their cake and have it, too. I don't really expect more than mediocre writing for a horror sequel, but this isn't even mediocre; it's just a cynical cash grab.

reply

I've thought of that too. Like yeah he killed 3 of your friends, but since he's put away, seems a bit much to devote your whole being to vengeance for that one night

reply

Laurie is Michaels sister! If they removed that part then the whole movie is completely worthless, cause that was Michaels complete motivation of part 1!

reply

No, the brother/sister thing was only thought of for the sequel, in the 1st movie they was not related, infact the original title of the movie was "The Babysitter Murders" it was just about a psycho killing babysitters, not a psycho brother trying to kill his sister.

reply

The first and the secondf movie was one movie. Splitted apart only by budget reasons! So Laurey indeed always was Michaels sister. Thats the whole point of his obsession. Otherwise he would have killed dozens of other teenies by random! The books doesnt matter at all, cause Carpenter did his own movie. With Laurie as Michaels sister. Otherwise the whole movie would have been made completely wrong.

reply

No sir, the second movie came like 3 years after the 1st, cause the first movie was such a big hit in theaters later on, they came back to Carpenter and wanted him to do a sequel. So he said he got drunk in a hotel room at 3 in the morning and came up with the idea that Michael would be Laurie's brother as a way to continue the story and explain why he's still coming after Laurie.

Carpenter has went into detail about this many times over the years in documentaries and interviews. Carpenter never intended to do a sequel, the plan was always to end the movie with Michael disappearing into the night after being shot.

reply

"and explain why he's still coming after Laurie."

Same thing that happening in the new Halloween. So ... case closed. The new movie destroys the original one and is in itself completely useless.

reply

Yes, but WE know that they are siblings! There is not getting around it. Whether or not the H2 exists is really , irrelevant, in my mind.
