Why wasn't Syd in this one?

I think it was money. A return person by union law gets more money than the first time. This movie was made for half of what was spent in BB2.

Her character from BB2 was spun off into the TV series L.A.'s Finest which is still airing so it would have been no more then a cameo anyway.
