uh this doesn't make sense, martin lawrence hasn't been a star in 15 years

so you can just put a has been star in a theater big movie? this is wrong. he's not relevant anymore and never will be.

reply

LMAO...THIS IS WRONG.

reply

I literally forgot he even existed lol.

Regardless I don't think it matters. The Bad Boys movies are/were popular, Will Smith himself is still a huge star, so the movie should do fine

reply

yeah, theater movie stars matter everytime. you have to have a movie star in a big theater movie. that's why you never see someone like kathy griffin in a movie or rosie o'donnelle anymore because they aren't stars anymore.

reply

kathy griffith is too fuggin ugly to be on a movie screen bro

reply

No they don't. We've seen hit movies without stars. We've seen flops that had them. People are so nostalgic for the Bad Boys films that it won't matter that Martin Lawrence is a no one these days, you can't underestimate the power of nostalgia and that might alone be enough to get people into the theaters.

reply

no, you see that's not how it works in Hollywood. Hollywood doesn't allow someone who was a star to be in a big screen big movie ever again if they are like martin lawrence.

reply

Martin will always be a star. Especially now a days where all the stuff is right there on Netflix/Hulu and other Apps for old fans as well as younger generations to click on to watch. Also having him in this movie can only make him even bigger in this era. Martin gets a huge reaction pretty much everywhere he goes, including his tonight show appearance the other day. He's doing just fine.

reply

Then how do you explain this film? lol You don't make any sense

reply

Did he burn his bridges?

reply

yeah, theater movie stars matter everytime. you have to have a movie star in a big theater movie.
Says a lot about how fickle the public is and controllable with marketing and advertising.
Saves having to make good films, just put a big name in and pump some superhero bullshit out .

reply

Sad, but true.

reply

Kathy Griffin and Rosie O´Donnell were stars?

reply

Will's had a huge string of duds. it's crazy, but these two actually need each other to open a big movie now.

reply

Uh Martin paid his dues enough to be able chill and accept a role whenever he damn well pleases. Besides, from what I gather he's making quite a bit off the royalties from his Sitcom that many still watch til this day. Plus obviously more than enough people still enjoy many of his films that he did over the years including bad boys, which is why the director keeps bringing them back. I've seen him talk about over the years how people always ask when is the next bad boys film coming out. You simply can't do a Bad Boys film without him and Will Smith.

reply

A. Yes, I still watch Martin.

B. Correct. There will never be a Bad Boys, staring Will Smith and the newly recruit because the Martin Lawrence charater retired. Fans will never allow that.

If you don't have Danny Glover and Mel Gibson, you don't have a Lethal Weapon.

reply

Last big movie I remember him in is Wild Hogs.

reply

I actually thought dat wuz Kevin hart

reply

Typical internet idiot!

reply

Mark Hamill hasn't been a star in 32 years

reply

Keep talking shit about Martin Lawrence and I may feel compelled to track you down and do something weird to you.
