Alamar?
What does "Alamar" as it is used in the title mean? The "festival" title is "To the Sea."
Just wondering.

You're right, "A la mar" means "To the sea". The director just put the three words together.
shareAlso, The Sea in spanish can be called in masculine "El Mar" (the usual and correct way) or in femenine "La Mar" (mostly use in poetry). To this, add the fact that you can separate "Alamar" in two different ways:
"A la mar" means literally "To the sea"
"Al amar" means "When you love".
and then you get the full meaning and expression of the idea behind the title of this film.
Very helpful re " Al amar." Thanks!
