2 door getaway car (LOL)

.....for 4 bank robbers. Yeah, awesome idea. Seconds can be the difference between life and death, and a 2 door car is harder to get into. I know the robbery was supposed to go smooth, but heck plan for the worse.

reply

I know I was cracking up too lol

Not as silly as a yellow get-away car.

TBH, it seems so forced that it screamed product placement by Ford. Whether it actually is or not is something I'm not privy to. I mean, the attempt to justify it as "hiding in plain sight" is just so.... lame I guess is the term?

reply

Agreed. I can understand the whole "hiding in plain sight" thing most of the time... but when you are bank robbers, probably not the best idea. Someone is bound to report a bright orange Shelby GT500 Super Snake leaving the crime scene in a hurry. Not many of those around lol

Ford sucks. Ford is a 21th century Lada.

reply

The whole movie is just so jam-packed with silly stuff that no real person would do.

reply

Like what?

I didn't see any plot hole or plot device (excerpt this cutie-snaky-shelby thing of course)

reply

You can't be serious, were you drunk or stoned when you watched it?
Entertaining movie but "I didn't see any plot hole" is simply crazy talk.

reply

Clearly you don't watch America's dumbest criminals, etc etc. If they're anything to go by America is full of retarded criminals that do the stupidest things. Not to mention it's prisons which are clearly crammed with people that can hardly read let alone think straight.

It seems to me that a film where the criminals seem even remotely intelligent is pushing the boundaries of disbelief these days.

reply

Your not wrong.

Ironically this movie doesnt make alot of mistakes direct to DVD sequals do.

Its actually alot of fun and besides a few logical goofs

"The whole movie is just so jam-packed with silly stuff that no real person would do."

Like what? Deathmatch with weapons? Mounting weapons to cars and racing them?

"You will never be one of the people!"

reply

It's just retarded beyond belief. For example:

Our hero suffers a huge wound on his hip - a really huge wound. One or two days later he's running and fighting to get to a car, without any signs of injury. The prisoners randomly picks a car in the race, but somehow each prisoner gets a car that matches them and somehow the tv-show has videos with the inmates posing with their car right after they fought their way to them.

Doors that the inmates can kick open.

A hero that can survive in a burning car that doesn't get put out until it burns out and still manages to get back to the race within days... Come on!

It's just a movie, but still there is so much that they could have done a gazillion times better.

reply

I laughed at the 2 door getaway car as well. Pretty funny when they had to hurry in...and out when Lucas told them to.

I think it was a little longer after his burns before the next race, though. Wasn't it the next season?

reply

There's no real timeline in the movie. There's nothing to suggest that there isn't three weeks or more between those scenes. Plus, you don't advertise a mysterious new driver just a few days before he starts driving. No! You advertise the crap out of him for a month, at least! Unless a movie specifically tells you that time has or hasn't passed, you can't assume.

As for the car videos, all 18 would be filmed in front of all nine cars. Also, since they already know the controls for them, they've all driven all nine cars as well. That's why everyone would make a beeline for a specific car. The pitcrew would be chosen beforehand for each driver and would then go to the pit for the car their driver chose.

"Fine. You want to eat? Let's see if you can eat... PIZZA!!!"

almighty_cinder is exactly right. And remember, they said 14k was the reigning champion, meaning the first race had completely ended and this was the next one. We aren't told how often they plan to hold them (that I can recall) but I would imagine it's well over a month apart. I'm thinking annually.

what a *beep* failure!

That was my first thought upon seeing them in it, then even trying to get out of the car smoothly was laughable!
