It's fairly unfocussed, but it does contain some powerful elements

...and I did learn a few things in watching it. Still, I'd have preferred one subject or another to be focussed on more in detail rather than the constant movement from one topic to another. Some were really under-explored anyway - for instance we get a number of perspectives on general trends as well as specific incidents, but then we get a couple of segments (the photo retoucher, the stripper) where we only have one person's opinions covering a broad subject. It fails both to really gel the parts into any kind of context in which to understand its elements, and to build any of those elements into a strong presentation.

A final complaint - what's with the long silent moments that appear to contribute nothing to the film? Once I even thought there was something wrong with the sound on my computer because it was silent for no reason for a couple of minutes.
