I counted a total of four Kamikaze pilots throughout the movie, including Hiroshi. What's up with that?

Kamikaze 4. Some dude standing behind Ozzie and Enoch in line, also dressed up for Halloween
Maybe it's just a common costume for Halloween, but I get the feeling it's supposed to mean something more than that...
They are clearly a symbol of death. The question, in relation to this film, is whether it was willing or unwilling. Hiroshima insists that he died willingly and with no fear, but as translated by Enoch, we hear that he was a little scared when he died. Since the central theme of the film is how we, as individuals, deal with death, I see it as a reminder that we all face death, but how we do that is up to us.

Either it was proof that Hiroshi wasn't real -- maybe Ozzie and Enoch had some interest in kamikaze pilots, as evidence Ozzie dressing up too. So makes sense his imaginary friend would be one.
OR ... it's this interest in them that is what made the actual ghost of one gravitate towards Enoch when he died.
dunno, but it's too specific to just be a coincidence that they both dressed like that.
