Feels very familiar

I watched the first episode of this, mainly because the ever-watchable Lucy Punch was in it.Whilst watching it I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something very familiar about it-particularly Toby Stephens' character. Then it hit me, he was playing Jack exactly like Dan Clark's character Don Domberry from the sublime "How Not to Live Your Life". In fact, if Don had joined the police force,Vexed shows exactly how he would have turned out. Overall, I'm not very impressed so far but will wait until the end of the series before leaving my vote-there is always a chance that it will improve.

I guess it is sort of similar to Don, but I really liked the characters for some reason. It's not perfect, but I felt good about it at the end.

Wrong. Don isn't good with women... or people. Also he's work-shy.

It feels like a funny version of the Detectives. You know that God awful show with jasper carrot in?

this show is getting better

I think he's an amalgam of Bodie and Doyle, with other tough guy cop characters mixed in.

OK, me again,so now I've watched all 3 episodes;and, er, I thought the first and second were badly written, boring and uninteresting. The third, however, at last showed a little promise, just enought to entice me to watch a second series, if they make one. I can't see where to vote for this one but it just creeps up to a 5/10, perhaps 6/10 for the third episode but let down by only 4/10 for the other 2. Yes, I know 4 plus 4 plus 6 adds up to 14 but I have given the show the benefit of the doubt and rounded it up so as to give an average of 5/10. Incidentally, I thought Lucy Punch was excellent in Doc Martin and in the short-lived US TV comedy series Class-does anyone remember that?. Class was quite good but was pulled by Fox after only a couple of series. Sadly, Fox have a track record of pulling popular shows-I still haven't forgiven them for pulling the excellent TV series Space Above and Beyond.

It was more a riff on Moonlighting with a bit of Naked Gun thrown in!
